Every year, HSLNKC recognizes member libraries with its annual awards, and presents HSLNKC Service Certificates to members who have worked to help our organization fulfill its mission. Other awards recognize HSLNKC members for their accomplishments at the regional and national level.

Emeritus Status - Any person who has held membership in the Health Sciences Library Network of Kansas City as an Individual Member, Institutional Designee, or Associate Member, or a combination thereof for a period of 10 years is eligible for HSLNKC Emeritus status at the time of their retirement and/or leaving full time employment.

Barbara McDowell Award - The Barbara McDowell Award was established in her memory in 1984. Barbara was Chief of Library Services at the Sioux Falls, South Dakota Veterans Administration. The award honors a chapter member who has made an outstanding contribution to hospital librarianship.
